When most people think of a designated driver, they picture someone volunteering to stay sober while their friends enjoy a night out. But at MyDDride, being a designated driver means so much more. It’s about helping people, protecting communities, meeting new faces and earning extra income while doing something genuinely rewarding.
With November now underway, the busy holiday season is approaching. That means there’s never been a better time to join the MyDDride family!
We provide more than just a ride home.
Serving Greater Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Kelowna, MyDDride provides a convenient, professional designated driving service that gets customers and their vehicles home safely. Our service is simple! One driver takes the customer home in his or her own vehicle, while a second driver follows in a support vehicle, often called a chase car. It’s a team effort that makes evenings safer for everyone.
For our drivers, the rewards go far beyond earning a paycheque. As Cheryl puts it, “I find driving for MyDDride a pleasant and enjoyable way to earn extra money and help keep the streets safe.” Brian agrees. “As a driver at MyDDride, I enjoy meeting different people and giving them a safe alternative ride home,” he told us.
We make the holiday season bright!
In the weeks to come, there will be numerous opportunities to help people get home after Christmas parties in Vancouver, celebrations in Surrey or evenings out in Langley. However, one of the biggest advantages of driving for MyDDride is the flexibility. You could be a student, a working professional or someone looking to supplement their income. Evening driving opportunities can fit around your other commitments.
Jenna appreciates that freedom. “I love that I can do this at night so I can have the flexibility of going to school and having time for my studies,” she informed us. Nirmal also enjoys the relaxed nature of the work, saying “it doesn’t feel like a job. I love driving and when I’m waiting for a ride I can relax at home, go to the store or hang out with my friends.”
Couples can enjoy working together!
MyDDride offers another appealing opportunity. As Ryan pointed out, “I love what this company represents and helping people get home keeps communities safer and I get to work with my wife.” In addition, there’s something special about knowing your work contributes to safer roads.
Tyna sums it up beautifully: “This is a rewarding way to earn money and make a difference.” Rachel highlights that late-night calls can be worthwhile: “I love that being a designated driver saves lives and when I am driving downtown at 2 in the morning to drive someone 16kms away, it’s worth it knowing I made a difference in the community by being available to help when everyone else is sleeping.”
At MyDDride, drivers aren’t simply filling shifts.
Everyone is part of a team that values safety, support and looking out for one another. As Sharon explains, “Rachel and Ryan are very supportive to their drivers and have our backs. While we’re providing a safe ride for people I know that I am safe doing it too.” That sense of teamwork is at the heart of what makes MyDDride a great place to work.
With the holiday season fast approaching, MyDDride is looking for more drivers!
