Over the past several years, Canadians have experienced a wave of economic uncertainty. From rising fuel costs to increasing rent and everyday expenses, affordability has become a growing concern. Yet through all these shifts, MyDDride has remained a steady, dependable presence across Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Langley and the Fraser Valley. We proudly offer consistent pricing and reliable, luxury designated driving services when people need it most.
We offer a steady approach in an unsteady economy.
When MyDDride first launched in May 2019, gas prices averaged around $1.40 per litre. At the time, our night service rate was simple and transparent: a $17.50 pickup fee, $2.50 per kilometre, plus a 10% tax and dispatch fee. Less than a year later, the world changed. In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced widespread shutdowns. MyDDride was closed intermittently until July 2021.
When we reopened, fuel prices had already climbed to approximately $1.70 per litre. While we adjusted our pickup fee to $25.00 to reflect operational realities, our per-kilometre rate remained unchanged. This set the tone for our long-term commitment to pricing stability.
We have established a timeline of trust.
In November 2021, devastating floods in British Columbia cut off major highways between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. They disrupted supply chains and drove gas prices up to roughly $2.42 per litre. Food and living costs surged across the region. Despite this, MyDDride did not increase pricing.
In February 2022, the war in Ukraine triggered global economic uncertainty. Fuel prices fluctuated and markets became volatile. Once again, MyDDride held steady. By the summer of 2023, the cost of living in the Lower Mainland had reached new highs, with one-bedroom apartments in Vancouver averaging around $2,700 per month. Groceries and daily essentials continued to rise. However, our pricing did not.
In 2024, our beloved Vancouver Canucks made an exciting run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. During that time, demand for transportation surged. Game nights, events and nightlife were in full swing and ticket prices averaged $500 a pop. Many transportation services capitalized on demand. MyDDride chose consistency instead. Through 2025, economic uncertainty continued with global trade tensions and market fluctuations. Still, there were no pricing changes.
We continue to demonstrate a clear and reliable pricing model.
Now, in April 2026, with renewed geopolitical conflict affecting fuel prices once again, MyDDride continues to stand by the same pricing model we’ve maintained for years. Today, our pricing remains straightforward and transparent. As our Hours + Rates page makes clear, our base structure includes a $25.00 pickup fee, $2.50 per kilometre and a 10% GST and dispatch fee.
While we’ve made minor adjustments to daytime pickup fees due to increased traffic and travel time, our night service rates have remained unchanged since 2021. There are no surprise surges or unpredictable rate spikes. Conditional fees, such as daytime rates, extended travel areas or holidays, are clearly communicated and kept reasonable. Additional charges only apply when necessary, such as wait times or last-minute changes, ensuring fairness for both clients and drivers.
We believe consistency matters.
In a time when many services frequently adjust pricing to match market conditions, consistency has become a rare and valuable quality. Clients want to know what to expect, not just in cost, but in service. At MyDDride, reliability goes far beyond getting you home safely. It’s about delivering a seamless, professional experience every time you book. That’s the difference a people-first, community-focused service makes.
